Reyes Peak Campground
Los Padres National Forest | Ojai, CA
You may not be on the top of the world, but it sure looks like you are at Reyes Peak Campground. With the Cuyama Badlands on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, you’re surrounded by spectacular views. On a clear day, you can even see some of the Channel Islands. The campground sits along a ridge at 7,000 feet, above the Sespe Wilderness. You’ll have vibrant wildflowers in the spring and summer. Head out from the campground for heavenly hiking along Raspberry Spring Trail, a one-half-mile walk through fragrant pines. A day trip south along Highway 33 to Rose Valley Road takes you to the Piedra Blanca trailhead, the access point for the Gene Marshall-Piedra Blanca National Recreation Trail, which leads to nearby massive white rocks, known as Piedra Blanca.
