Los Padres National Forest | Mt. Pinos, CA

Ditch the phone for a weekend getaway to McGill Campground and recharge your own batteries. At an elevation of 7,400 feet in western Los Padres National Forest, the campground offers two group camps.  Hop on the McGill Campground Trail and hike or bike for a meandering 3.7 miles, admiring splendid views of the San Joaquin Valley and the Sierra Nevadas in the distance. Or, gear up for the two-mile hike to the 8,831-foot summit of Mount Pino. For more stunning scenery, drive the nearby Jacinto Reyes National Scenic Byway and take in breathtaking cliffs and rock formations.
