Middle Lion Campground

Los Padres National Forest | Ojai, CA

For a wonderland of waterfalls, swimming holes and a running creek, Middle Lion Campground can’t be beat. This beautiful wooded campground and day use area near Ojai sits in a canyon, next to Lion Canyon Creek near the Sespe Wilderness area. While great hiking is accessible from the campground, you can hike, fish and marvel at Rose Valley Falls in the nearby Sespe Wilderness (mountain bikes are off limits). A short trail from the Rose Valley Campground leads to the base of the falls (the cliffs here crumble easily, so tread carefully) and the going gets more challenging to reach the upper tier. Either way, these waterfalls are wondrous. Back in your cozy campground, cool off in the stream and relax in the shade of cottonwoods. Middle Lion Campground is the perfect size for pitched tents. If your RV is under 20 feet, you can camp here, too.

• 8 tent and RV sites (up to 20 ft, no hookups)
• Picnic tables, fire pits, grills/fire rings
