White Oaks Campground

Los Padres National Forest | Monterey, CA

Keep your eye out for red-tail deer and other animals that regularly gather around a giant bush to dine on its berries in the middle of White Oaks Campground. It’s a favorite pastime of campers in this lovely campground, set in a grove of towering trees. The other sight to see is the Santa Lucia Range—its canyons, valleys, and oak woodlands bursting with color. More than 90 species of birds will keep you riveted if you’re into bird watching. Bring your hiking boots because the Pine Ridge Trailhead is 2.7 miles from the campground, and offers magnificent views of the Santa Lucia Mountains along the way. From the trailhead, no less than 23 miles of trails are yours to explore.
