Need a break from the noisy city? Let the sound of the surf soothe your spirit at Plaskett Creek Campground. Located in Big Sur, this family-friendly campground has a grassy, park-like setting, with Monterey pine and cypress trees. While it’s a beautiful place to relax, it’s just a short walk to Sand Dollar Beach and a full day of fun in the Pacific. Surfing? Check. Swimming? You bet. Fishing? Plenty, for yellow perch and other coastal surf fish. You could walk along a beach trail and search for shells or simply relax and soak in the sun. If you brought your motorcycle, check out Highway 1 for a staggeringly scenic ride.

FAQs

Q: Are there any hiking trails nearby?
A: Trails to Sand Dollar Beach, Jade Cove and Plaskett Rock Point are just across Highway One from the campground and Pacific Valley Bluff Trail is only a mile to the north.
Q: Why is there no running water in the sinks?
A: Due to the California drought and water shortage in California, the spigots have been turned off at Plaskett Creek Campground to conserve water for flushing toilets and spigots. Many campers have added hand sanitizer and wipes to their camping supplies.
Q: Will my camping pass here be good at Sand Dollar?
A: Currently, PMC offers an “Annual Pass” for Day Use facilities for $50.00 which will get you into Sand Dollar, Willow Creek, Mills Creek and Pfeiffer Beach.
Q: Where is the nearest gas station/store?
A: 3 miles south of Plaskett Creek is area called Gorda, where you will find gas, showers, laundry and a convenience store.
Q: Can we go to Limekiln to take showers with our camping pass from Plaskett Creek?
A: Limekiln showers are for Limekiln registered camping guest only.
