Limekiln State Park

Hwy 1 is only accessible by vehicle from Nacimiento Fergusson Road via G14 from Hwy 101 through Lockwood. Nacimiento/Ferguson road is a winding, mountain road.  Please use a map to check your route before traveling, as Google Maps and GPS systems are currently giving unreliable directions due to slides and closures on SR1. Once you get to SR1, the only public access along Highway 1 is to Gorda (PM 10) to the south, and to Limekiln State Park (PM 20) to the north. The remainder of SR1 remains closed due to road work.  Sand Dollar Beach, Willow Day Use and Mill Day Use are open to the public and accessible on SR 1. 


Limekiln State Park features breathtaking views of the Big Sur Coast, the beauty of the redwoods, the rugged coast and the cultural history of limekilns. Amazing Day Use with hikes to waterfalls and the ancient limekilns. The park has 29 campsites and are available for reservations up to 48 hours in advance at www.reserveamerica.com or by calling 800-444-7275.

When choosing a site, please be aware that each site can only accommodate 1 or 2 vehiclesThere is no additional parking within Limekiln State Park.  Extra Vehicles must park outside of the facility.

Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table.

Pay Showers, Running Water, Firewood for sale.

 

Location-Directions
The park is 56 miles south of Carmel, off Highway One; two miles south of Lucia.

Seasons/Climate/Recommended Clothing
The weather can be changeable. Layered clothing is advised.
